did they run out of budget?

It was strange that after setting up the mystical angle over and over again, they never had the famous meeting between Attila and Pope Leo.

And the Roman girl should have gone with Attila to his home.

Also they never even talked about how they would divert a river to bury Attila's body.

Seems like they were setting up all of these scenes, but in the end didn't do them. I wonder if they spent too much money on other things and just ran out of budget to finish the story properly.
