Lame

Im really a fan of the Empire of the steppes ... cause it belongs to the history of my people.

For those who want to know more about the steppes I prefer the book :

"The Empire of the Steppes / a history of central asia"

To the movie ! it was just lame. I mean Ive no problems with my greek neighbours (one of my best friends is greek) but I really hate it that Hollywood is just concentrating on european battles (especially Greek and the european Crusaders). I mean hey come on Chengiz Han, Atilla, Tamerlane, Aplarslan & the ottoman turks were really great conquerors. Our story begins 300 years b.c. till 1915 with great dynastys/culture/wars/and so on.....

I mean come on I was so happy to hear about Atilla that I thought it would be a great movie. when I bought the DVD I was so disappointed. it was just lame ...

So what did u expect from a film made for TELEVISION?!(..not that any other-contemporary,mostly-production of *beep* is any better, when it comes to dealing with historical figures and matters)
Come on.

Gerard Butler's taste of crap to come in 300.

I actually remember this movie showing on TV several years ago. I didnt even know it was on and was flipping through the channels and saw the intro scene on the steppes with the horsemen and thought I was watching a Mongolian/Chinese movie or something. Was a bit surprised when they all spoke english and turned out to be white folks. Not the greatest movie, but a fair attempt for a low budget made-for-tv movie. I'm gonna rent it again.....

I take it you're a Turk? Why don't you state that?
