My math teacher was in this movie

Yeah I know your teacher. They used real high school soccer players for the game and any related scenes. Matt's character, Morris, attends to Bristol (RI) High School (now Mt. Hope HS), though the colors were those of Mt. Hope. And of course, (to locals anyway), they played their rivals, Barrington (RI) High School. The director, Bob Emery, is from Bristol, hence the film being set there. The book takes place in Ohio, where the writer was from. Besides soccer players, there were several other Mt. Hope students, and a few faculty that were extras in the film.
