I've managed to get hold of the box set of Rainy Dogs, Ley Lines & Shinjuku and I want to know is there an order to watching these ? Do they relate to each other in any way or do they just have a common theme ?

They are only related in vague theme. First comes Shinjuku, then Rainy Dog, then Ley Lines.

rainy dog is the best of those three...in my opinion

I'd say they're all very good, but are only really related by themes, and are all dark and have a similar depressing feel (at least in my mind).

"You are the Duke of New York! You are A # 1!"
