Can someone tell me why was the boy in the woods? and why did he have the purse? and how did the monk and Norman baron knew he was in the woods? did not understand that part. thanks
shareHe was travelling through the woods towards his home. He got the purse from his mother, and that's what he was supposed to take home. How did the monk knew he was in the woods? I'm guessing he didn't really know that precisely this boy will be there, but was just lurking there to see if he could find anyone, and he did.
shareI thought the boy went to sell a cow or something else. His father was dead so his mother relied on him even though he was young. The monk may have been trolling for young victims. The purse contained the money he got.
