My take on Blizzard so far

I used to love Blizzard and thought they made the most top of the line quality games around...The following is a review of them from the beginning of the time when I had discovered them til now.

Warcraft - A great real time strategy game involving humans vs. orcs, lead on to make a great sequel.

Warcraft 2 - Awesome game, first one from Blizzard I ever played from a demo disc. Good units but not much diversity.

Warcraft 2 - The Dark Portal (was that what it was called?) - Expansion...not as great as the original, but gave me something to do to kill time while I wayed on Diablo.

Diablo - Their first crack at a role playing game and quite frankly my favorite RPG for years to come until the sequel.

Hellfire - Not by Blizzard, but Sierra, another former favorite in RPG games. Very pleased with added levels, but new added class was just weird.

Starcraft - WARCRAFT IN SPACE! Now my favorite RTS game from my at the time favorite gaming company! Diversity in the races, but it seemed decisions were always made for you and you always got the short end of the stick and had to climb your way back up to the top just to be knocked down again.

Brood War - Well, the story goes on. I must say I loved the new units, but feel one of the races was given way too much more (the protoss with mind control and able to produce dark templar...). I love where the storyline kept going, a great continuation in story to a great game.

Diablo 2 - Awesome game, by far Blizzard's best of all if you ask me with starcraft a close second.

Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction - UNDERRATED if you ask me!!! I loved the new classes and levels. Harrogath ruled! Baal certainly was weird looking in the ciematics, but still as badass as he was at the end of D2.

Warcraft 3 - What the hell is this supposed to pass for? So now it's Warcraft in anime...wonderful *notes the sarcasm*. Animation looks like something out of a kid's cartoon and not the same old type of Warcraft I remember at all...While the cinematics were beautiful and the two new races a good touch, not to mention the diversity of the game was a plus which the sequels both lacked...the storyline was bland and the in game animation sucked so bad...

Warcraft 3 - Frozen Throne - No thank you...I was not pleased enough with the original to give this game consideration, and I hate that SOB that is on the cover.

Warcraft 3 - Reign of Chaos - Yet another expansion for the ones that actually liked this game...a bad sequel to a bad sequel is all I think it is just like frozen throne.

Starcraft Ghost - I got one thing to say...What the friggin HELL?! Console Only?! What in god's name are the people at blizzard smoking?! Screw console systems...they are nothing but glorified gaming PCs hooked up to the television...Hey blizzard, no one played your stupid playstation version of Diablo, they all own it on PC cause it's better...you started on PC now stick to what you're best at...Dear lord you really pounded nails in your coffin with this one. I for one am not buying whatever god forsaken console system this game is for for hundreds of dollars then the game for damn near 70 dollars just to play it...I got a top of the line gaming PC and want to use it...now sure I can download a console system emulator to play it but that was not what it was made to do...It just pisses me off that they would even consider doing such a thing with no satisfactory justification? Why? Why blizzard? Why console only? 'We hope to revisit the starcraft universe on the PC some day soon' Well why not with this one?! Port it for god's sake! This is sadly one of the biggest mistakes I feel a gaming company has ever made, and now Blizzard ranks on 'one' of my favorite gaming companies...shame on you blizzard...

World of Warcraft - Well, wonderful...pay to play? Screw you and your everquest copying asses...If I can't play a game single player then I would rather not play it at all. Though I play EQ and am signing up for EQ2...still though, I cannot afford to pay to play ALL of my games...whether or not it merits mad patching and antihacks...D2 was fine, so why bother?

Did you never actually PLAY the games? Lemme explain something simple...

Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos WAS Warcraft 3. Blizzard always titled their Warcraft games. Thus, your comments on Reign of Chaos are purely... Idiotic?

Warcraft 3 utilized a different game engine that created adverse 3-D effects and gave it a lighter feel. Warcraft 3 had much higher levels of detail than the other Warcrafts, it had the special Blizzard touch to its "cartoonish" style. All units moved like they should and they each were unique, as always.
The storyline had depth. It built heavily ontop of the already laid down Warcraft lore and gave it more meaning, diversity and uncovered the sinister beings behind the shadows, the Burning Legion.

Say what you will, Warcraft 3 remains one of the greatest games, especially RTS, to be around.

Frozen Throne was a welcome add-on! It began to explore into the more dangerous side of the free-willed in Azeroth, giving light to the Lich King and his servant, Arthus ("that SOB on the cover"), who was a great character, symbolizing the overpowering nature of greed. It was the only game that didn't focus on the threat of the Burning Legion, in the Warcraft series, up till its release. It focused on how people were recovering after such atrocious things had happened in the previous game and on the threat that the scourge left with it and a few heroes attempts to stop this threat, while avoiding their own person demons.

But, alas, not all people share my love for the final two Warcraft games.

I personally loved Warcraft III (haven't played much of Frozen Throne... yet) and I think that a lot of your complaints are sort of silly. So the graphics had a somewhat cartoonish look to them, so what? I thought that it lended nicely to the overall feel of the games. Maybe if they do make a Warcraft IV (which I personally pray they do, as well as a Diablo III) they use a more realistic visual style but regardless I like the visuals in Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne.

Also I don't agree with your statements on World of Warcraft (and more than seven million agree with me), I think it's a fun game. And I used to enjoy Everquest. But I like World of Warcraft a hell of a lot more.

Umm.. First off Warcraft III WAS Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne was it's only expansion pack. I love how you contradict yourself in the World of Warcraft section saying you wouldn't play a game that's not single player (although you play EQ and plan on signing up for EQ2, which by the way is no where near as well put together as WoW is).

And by the way, I would MUCH rather have mad patching and antihacks in a game that I love. Why would you want someone to get in there and dominate everyone else when they don't have the skill or patience to actually get good at the game themselves? Diablo II was the perfect example of this. 95% of the people didn't even go through the Acts on their own, they were rushed through Normal, Nightmare, and Hell. I'd say about 70% of the people on there had hacked or bugged items.

And wtf are you talking about with Starcraft Ghost? That game was canceled. And by the way, I bought the console PS1 Diablo and I bought the console N64 Starcraft. In your face!

My mistake, they still blew Oprah's Fat@$$. I tried WOW and in the long run it's no different from EQ. EQ is more rewarding in many aspects of gameplay. More Zones, more lore, more races, more classes. Yeah I'll pay for that. And for the record I haven't had an EQ account for almost a year.

Play Closed B.NET and you won't find that crap. The most anyone could ever get working was Maphack.

You know what your precious console system is? It's a computer hooked up to your TV. So rather than spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on console systems, why not just buy a tripped out PC instead? And for the record your N64 Starcraft and PS1` Diablo were ports of the successful PC versions anyway. Once again this proves my point that Blizzard needs to stick to what they know, and that's PC Gaming.

You "tried" WoW.. That's like saying you "tried" skateboarding. You have to actually play and get better. I don't believe that MMO's should be considered games because the beginning in every MMO sucks. Really badly. And by the way, IMHO, WoW seems to be a lot easier and funner to play than EQ.

"Play Closed B.NET and you won't find that crap. The most anyone could ever get working was Maphack."

Umm.. you're wrong. Why do you think Blizzard went on an account-deleting spree? My brother got his account deleted because he hacked. There were plenty of hacks including bugged items that people paid actual money for (a friend of mine.) Get your facts straight.

I was not dissing the computer games. You said that nobody bought the console Blizzard ports, and I pointed out that I did.

Hmmm...I think Blizzard just keeps topping themselves, honestly. They have a very high quality standard. Warcraft 3 was excellent ( not as as good as Starcraft in my opinion, but still pretty good). WoW was fun for awhile, too...Although I kind of drifted away from it and back into Diablo 2.
