Are the freaks real?

Did they somehow make actors look like freaks or are they really like that? I've always been curious

A few of the actors would technically be classified as real "freaks." Obviously Vern Troyer (Dr Phreak) is a dwarf, Matt McGrory (The Human Sasquatch) had acromegaly (a hormonal condition that causes the body to grow oversized), and Beetlejuice (Lil' Zip, the black dude) has microcephaly (a small head). Randy and Jason Sklar (the siamese twins) are merely twins, and I think the remaining freaks were just normal actors who were put in makeup.

and the dude with the flippers was in the ringer so some was fake

There was a lady with half a body? lol, I just watched it today and don't recall that

Some are, some are not. The flipper guy and the chicken man are not.
