The Power of the Film

I know there are those who have contributed to this thread who think that this movie is "cheesy" and "substandard" by Hollywood standards. To you, I can only say this: it quiets my 3-year old daughter. She's riveted to the story; she always gets scared when Jesus Christ is crucified, yet she jumps up and down and gets giddy when He comes to visit the people at the temple in Bountiful. She knows, and she gets it, and it's through the power of this incredible movie.

I'll be the first to admit that I *love* a good Hollywood movie; we own over 500 DVDs, and we're starting to collect HD movies. None of them can bring the "feel-good" feeling my daughter gets when she watches this movie.

Say what you will. The movie serves a purpose beyond the Hollywood elements, and nothing is more important than that.

Yes some of the dialogue and acting is a little over the top and "cheesy", but the message is still there. I'm not an outwardly emotional guy but everytime I see the end where the savior embraces the blind man and heals him I can't help but weep-a reminder of how personal his love and power are able to touch each one of us, how he is constantly aware of us individually...very powerful.
