chowchow

Why was chow chow voiced by david cross? did it have something to do with paying that kid or what? I really liked the movie but whenever chow chow was in it I wanted that part to be over. I dont like david cross's voice coming out of that kids mouth and the movements are also pretty off.

Are you serious? Do you actually think that there is no real reason for him voicing the kid over, and that he didn't do a good job of lip syncing it...
It was all on purpose, supposed to be funny, I found it funny...

But maybe that's just me; with a sense of humor.

Have you ever seen Godzilla, Rodan, or any kung fu movie. The English dubbing never came anywhere close to matching the mouth movement. So since ChowChow was Asian he would obviously speak the way the Asians in the movies talk.

Exactly! Chowchow was HILARIOUS! And yes, that was David Cross's voice.

I thought it was pretty funny...classic mr show style

I think that's probably the funniest part in the whole movie lol

That cracked me up. Not only was he making fun of movies that have adults dub the voice of children, he was making fun of movies that have their main "outlaw" characters suddenly have so much compassion for a random kid with some health condition. This was a fun, stupid movie.

Chow Chow was great! If were his father I'd be damn proud of that boy!

reply

i think it also had to do with the fact that the kid that played chowchow was a horrible actor.

Watch an asian movie. The American dubs are so bad and always overdone cartoon voiceovers.

This is especially based on the crippled kid in Jackie Chan's "Rumble in the Bronx" which is a super entertaining flick. The end credits are a hilarious take-off of the Rumble in the Bronx credits too.
