No Way Out 2000 Review

This is another show I liked from the WWF ppv series. Actually, I think 2000 as a whole had one of the overall best WWF ppv seasons ever. There's more to enjoy matchwise in the 2000 shows then both 1999 and 1998 I think. The majore thing about this show was the end of Mick Foley's career......or until 2004 atleast. Well, he stayed retired longer than the usual do. Live from a fogged in Hartford Conneticut your hosts are good ol JR and Jerry The King Lawler.

Good way to start the night. 3 stars.

The New Age Outlaws Vs The Dudley Boyz

Funny, the title flashes up Intercontinental Championship match. Bubba with a bubbabomb on Roadogg out of the gate and a whazzzup follows. Billy wrecked his shoulder the smackdown before and is on his way out on injury so he's useless. Outlaws have outlived their usefullness and the Hardyz/E+C/Dudleyz are about to break new ground. Billy tags in and noticably only punches with the right arm and has his left one pulled in like it's broken. JR doesn't point it out. Bubba pulls him out and smashes him in the bum arm with a lead pipe and a 3D on Dogg gives the Dudleyz their first belts at 5:20. Gunn is kicked out of DX the following night but would be on and off teaming and buddies again with Roadogg by late 2000. 1 star.

Malenko works on the injured ankle of Rikishi but gets driven and banzai dropped for the pin at 13:32. Too Cool do a dance number. I liked it. 3 stars.

They fight on the announcers table as JR and Lawler scatter and Foley piledrives him on the announce table, it doesn't give. He climbs the cage, but Steph pulls him down. Mick shoves the timekeeper aside and finds his barbed-wire 2x4. HHH takes it in the face, and climbs to the top to escape, crowd is slowly rising. Mick follows, and gets shoved off onto the Spanish table. Jack blades. He tries three times to chuck a chair up top but can't, oops. He climbs up, and HHH gouges his face with the barbwire. They slug it out on top. Foley suplexes him and DDTs him. Foley ups the anty by igniting the 2X4 and giving HHH a shot to the head. Foley tries to piledrive him on the flame but HHH backdrops out of it, Foley goes THROUGH the cell roof AND THROUGH the ringmat below. Holee Shiat!!! HHH slowly climbs down and gives Foley a poke, he musters up the strength to stand but HHH just pedigrees and pins him at 24:10 to retain and retire Foley. Probably the best retirement match ive seen. I give it my top score for hardcore cage style matches. 4 stars. It might just be me but the crowd didn't seem as crazy for this HITC as they were at KOTR.

Overall Opinion: Great show. Three 3 star matches and you close with a 4 star match.

Final Score: On a scale of 1.0 to 10.0.....I give this show a 6.5. The WWF was definately doing something right in 2000 for their ppv booking.
