Now that MM's career is ablaze it would seem to be a good financial proposition to release this on video/DVD - whatever.

I realize this is late, but I got my copy from Amazon a few months ago. I live in the U.S., so I have to have a region free DVD/Blue Ray player since it is a Region 2 DVD. You mentioned Mads Mikkelsen, if that's the reason you're interested, save your money. Mads screen time is probably less than 2 minutes and he doesn't speak at all.
