MPD Psycho finally gets released in the USA as a DVD boxset

I recently found out that MPD Psycho is being released as a boxset in region 1.
I love the manga and have been meaning to buy the individual DVDs of the mini-series but havent been able to fit them into my budget.
The boxset is $23 on Amazon.
Just about the price of one DVD PLUS it comes with an a 4th DVD of extra features.
With the manga finally being licensed by Dark Horse comics and this boxset coming out its been a great past few weeks for MPD Psycho fans.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the only version out is cencered for tv....

Plus, though it says so on the box, the dvds are not anamorphic. The episodes are forced letterbox.

I bought it for $14.99 at Best Buy. I had Vol. 1 for about a year or so now and coulndt get the others but now I have the box. Too bad the original uncut footage is lost.

From what I hear Miike censored the series himself.
That means there more than likely was never any uncensored footage anyways.

It had to be censored for TV. On the back of th box it says the orignal uncut was lost. Miike loves his graphic scenes, he probably would have loved it to be uncut.

I know what it "says".
I just got mine today.
I've only watched the first episode & its great so far.
I've read at different places that Miike did the censoring himself and that there never has been any uncensored footage released to the public and it never will be.

I cant wait until the manga comes out in the USA

A lot of people are saying the same thing that Miike censored it on purpose, but some are also saying Japanesse versions of the series can be found uncut.

Sounds like something to get your hands on.

Episode 5 is my favorite

Buy the bootlegs if you want the Uncensored versions. Most notably, Cannibal King's bootlegs contain them uncensored. I've seen both versions of the show and the censored versions are actually better and it was done on purpose, or most of it. After Episode 2, the episodes get less and less censored to where there's barely if any at all done.

I can see that. The censoring leaves more mystery as to what is going on in the show. The idea that more is revealed via, less censoring, makes the series more captivating.

i bought the dvd boxset released in america, and loved it. but now, i wanna see it uncensored. lol, could anyone point me in the direction of that? it said it was lost, but i saw people found it.
