why the hell do they need to keep doing this?

I personally think that Bambi 2 was a good sequel myself, certainly better then the others that disney have come up with... it had the quality that the original had, and the voice cast was so close to that of the original as well. The only other good disney sequel was Pirates of the Caribbean 2, but I think that was because they had a director that knew what he was doing.

I think that sequels are so awful... is maybe because they aren't as dark as their originals. I mean the orignal disney films scared me to death, but we loved being scared as kids... and the quality of the animation and effects were awesome, now the sequels are far too "innocent" and very poorly coloured, things didn't have the same texture to give you that "realistic" feel.

But I can think of a possible other reason... money, as long as Disney sell their films I don't think they're too bothered. Its just a shame that Disney has lost its "magic" Tarzan and Treasure Planet where the last good films to be released. It's a shame that Disney has lost its immagination.

And yes, Toy Story an Toy Story 2 -were- Disney as well as Pixar... though I think Pixar was the only thing that kept Disney going.
