I noticed a reference to B&tB when the girl looks in the tower and sounds exactly like belle when she says "is anyone here?" and when she moves the curtain to reveal the light...idk it all reminded me of it

hmmm... also in the original the belle walks by in the street in "Out There"... maybe they decided these two movies were connected cuz ur right it does sound like her.

Yeah it's pretty obvious there's a Beauty & the Beast type tale going on for Madelline and Quasimodo. (And yes imho Madelline also looks like a cross between Belle and Tinkerbelle, if you're perfectly honest.)
Still though what made this story unique to the other BATB is that in the end Quasimodo stayed physically the same, but Madelline still had feelings for him because of his kind heart and despite his physical appearance. (It also helped that Quasi spoke better & more clearly in the Disney version of Hunchback than any other I've ever seen.)
