Why Not Separate the Cast Interviews
First, I think this film is quite valuable and worth watching. I viewed the first two hours in one evening, then the last four hours through the course of the following day. Whew, it's long. But it's genuinely thought-provoking and definitely worth the time.
But I wonder why the creators decided to keep the cast interviews as interspersed with the movie? In a 1.5 hour feature I can see debates about whether inserting these "break the fourth wall" interviews would contribute to the theatrical experiene, but at 6 hours, man, we can use all the editing we can get.
I would have preferred they set the cast interviews off to the side, as an extra on the DVD. Chances are I would have opted for extras anyway before I watched the remaining 4.5 or so hours of film continuously.
