To Bee Or Not To Bee?
by Michael G. Mickey
(4-21-07)

On 2-21-07, I touched briefly on a mysterious illness that was killing tens of thousands of honeybee colonies across the country, threatening honey production, and possibly crops that need bees for pollination.

I asked the question then and I ask it yet again today: What could a continuance of that trend have to do with the future of mankind and the fulfillment of Bible prophecy?

An answer is found in the book of Luke,

as well as from within one of the greatest minds the world has ever known.

Luke 21:11: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years left to live."- Albert Einstein

A recent article by The Independent, in light of the above, reads "like the plot of a particularly far-fetched horror film" as the article's author implies.

Recently, honey bee colonies around the world, as touched on earlier, have been impacted by what is now being referred to as Colony Collapse Disorder or CCD.

The condition occurs, according to The Independent, "when a hive's inhabitants suddenly disappear, leaving only queens, eggs and a few immature workers, like so many apian Mary Celestes

The vanished bees are never found, but thought to die singly far from home.

The parasites, wildlife and other bees that normally raid the honey and pollen left behind when a colony dies, refuse to go anywhere near the abandoned hives."

What could be behind this bizarre phenomena that threatens the lives of each and every one of us?

One theory is it may be caused by "radiation given off by mobile phones and other hi-tech gadgets."

Could this be true and, if so, will the world react quickly enough to the threat posed to save the world's food supplies?

I'm not sure, but I know that the early Tribulation Period is going to see the world struck by terrible famine:

Revelation 6:5-6: And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
Walvoord states these passages describe “a time of famine when life will be reduced to the barest necessities.”

Revelation 6:7-8: When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying,

“Come and see.”

So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

Is this anything worth worrying about?

Below are the numbers stated by The Indeopendent.

You decide for yourself.

CCD has hit half the states in the U.S.A.

The West Coaist of the U.S.A. is thought to have lost 60% of its total commercial bee population.

The East Coast of the U.S.A. has lost 70% of its bee population.

Once again, whether CCD is being caused by high tech gadgetry or a totally different source, events occurring in real time in the world around us are demonstrating the truth of the prophetic Word of God!

Recently, I posted a video on YouTube.com where I had a little fun with the recently put-forth 'scientifically- proven' notion that a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a cousin of same, over the course of eons of evolution, became a chicken.

That, to me, is just side-splittingly hilarious.

What isn't funny at all, which I want you all to look at, are the posts that have been written in response to my video.

Why?

Because a large portion of the generation that is rising up now neither values the Word of God nor takes anything we tell them seriously concerning the

perpetually growing body of evidence that demonstrates the Word of God to be true, among which all of the above may well play into - and dramatically so.

I've heard it said that one of out of every three bites of food we eat in a day exists because of honey bees.

If Albert Einstein was correct in his thinking, even that startling estimate may be low.

Too Bee Or Not To Bee?

That is the end times question for today.

God bless you all.
