Kathy Bates Nude

Did anyone else enjoy seeing Kathy Bates Naked? I did. Has there been any other fat famous actors nude in Movies like that? I would like to see more movies like that.

reply

Amen. That was a bold move for someone of her age and physical status to pull. And you know what? It just made the movie a bit more genius. God I love Payne's work!!!

reply

Agreed, although I can't say I <<enjoyed>> seeing her naked, it was an excellent bit, and a very real touch. People besides 20 year old starlets actually do take their clothes off.

reply

I agree too. Positively not what I would close my eyes to think about on a cold lonely night. But very, very funny...

Brilliant criticism, George Steiner.

There are plenty of immature people on here saying it was disgusting etc but I just don't think the scene would have had the same affect if they hadn't shown this.

Good for her, I don't know too many women that age that would have the balls to do that!

Do guys like "the thing"?
They like it better than no thing.

reply

It was rather nasty seeing Kathy Bates nude, however I will give her the credit for doing so since it showed that she had guts.

reply

It is rather nasty to see some reptiles as well, but should directors avoid to show them in the movies?

About Schmidt is not a certain type of magazine, but a movie, an art, depicting its vision of reality. The reality contains both beautiful and nasty things, it is not a fairy tale where you can select only good (or only bad) images of some imaginary world.

reply

I don't think Kathy Bates is fat. She looks good for her age, and the nude scene did brighten up the film a little bit due to the subject matter of the main character losing his wife. Besides, it was a very fast nude scene anyway. If the director would have cut down on the language a little bit, this film could have easily earned a PG-13 rating.

reply

It was a good scene and it wasn't nasty AT ALL. She looked really fine for someone her age.

reply

Most people don't notice that Jack Nicholson showed his saggy butt in the next scene as he goes to his RV to sleep and is pulling off his wet bathing suit. Hey, that's life.

reply

you are all sick twisted individuals

reply

You guys are nasty.
I had to close my eyes.

"Teh" is simple "teh" best typo ever.

reply

I was in shock! She is very bold, I respect her for having the courage to do that! I mean, sure she isn't the most attractive woman, but I thought it was a nice change to have someone "not perfect" be nude...because not everyone is a supermodel- That was a funny and shocking scene, too awesome:-)

hehe Yeah what a move! I like her so much now!
Idiots there are plenty of fat chicks in the real world so on my screen i would rather see a hot model! Btw you guys are psychos!

reply

Well... I can't say I liked it... But that's just me. It was realistic, but still... Ugh.

reply

A lot of you people obviously don't live in the real world! I don't find her, or her body offensive, in fact I would like to see more normal women naked in films because too many people think anyone who is not a supermodel is ugly & fat. This world is seriously screwed! No wonder people are so unhappy.

reply

???You "actually vomited in your mouth"? You pathetic, miserable , little weasel. How will you look when you get to be her age?? She's an actress!! she gave herself to that scene, it was all natural and normal! I suggest you go back to Disney films and leave the rest to us adults!

reply

That scene was spoofed on the Family Guy last night.

reply

hahaha yeah that was so awesome :D!!!
Stewie in the tub hahaha I had a good laugh there!

reply

The scene wasn't put there for titillation.

It was humorous, relevant to the plot and underlined Bate's character in that movie.

Good on Bates for having the courage and confidence to do it.

It's reassuring to see actors such as Bates and Nicholson not resorting to nonsense such as plastic surgery and just ageing gracefully. After all we all grow old.

reply

That's true. The scene was very funny, and it really matched the character Roberta.

reply

Kathy Bates body is typical of what a 50 plus overweight woman would look like. There are more ladies like that size than the 21 year old size 2 models.

reply

Listen, if actors like Jack Nicholson and Dennis Franz enjoy showing off their less-than-perfect physiques and cottage-cheese backsides (the most recent showing for Nicholson in "Something's Gotta Give"), then Kathy Bates was quite brave and realistic to do the scene here.
However, the friend who accompanied me to the movie (and is also female), half-covered her eyes, and went "Eeeww!", as did a lot of the audience. To each, their own.

reply

AMEN!!!!

But we also saw Diane Keaton in her 60s naked in the movie Something's Gotta Give so why not!

I puked all over myself....i mean it was kool that they did that because its a rare thing. its always gotta be some young hot actress or actor missing articles of clothing but still Kathy Bates i mean shes a wonderful actress but still i puked all over myself

reply

I'm sorry, Kathy Bates is a great actress and there's no disrespect intended, but seeing her in the nude was not a pleasant experience. JMO.

reply

I knew this would be the part that would garner the most criticism from a younger audience. To enjoy seeing Kathy Bates naked is a little much, However I enjoyed the boldness and the effect it gave the film. Even more so by today's standards. It added to the realism of the film to have a very ordinary at best looking character get nude without the censors comming in and insisting on a center-fold model instead to do the scene. It was appropriate for the scene and the intended effect.

reply

I don't think it added to the realism of the film..it just seemed to be there for shock value and distracted from the rest of what was going on in the scene.

reply

"Shock"? Are you living in a pure fantasy world where everything is shiny and siliconed? On the contrary, it was part of her character to impose herself unashamedly on everybody around her in the movie, and she is totally unable to evaluate other people's limits. But Warren's face when she steps into the pool is hilariously funny.
