Can't stand Janey and Michael - insufferable, spoilt, middle class twats
Very unlikeable characters. I much preferred it when Abi arrived on the scene.

shareMichael I hate because he thinks he's superior and always insults his parents and is mean spirited.
I dislike Janey because of the reason the other poster noted, however she's sort of a "type" of a person that exists in shows often; Barbie stereotype etc so i guess she is less abrasive to me as I've been desensitised to that sort of character.
But Michael did not mind his dad was taken hosstage, stole from Roger to sell him concert tickets, humiliated his dad on television, and just never has a nice thing to say.
Abi was infuriating when she arrived. Made me want to knock her out good and proper. She was only just bearable so many episodes into the series. You want someone annoying. Try Susan. She is the most irritating hypocritical arrogant ignorant character I've ever come across in a sitcom.
"Trick or treat. You bald headed bastard!"
I really couldn't stand it when they made Michael gay. there was no point to that. He was such a girl hunter early on that making be gay seemed so gratuitous.
And I know on american tv (where I watch it) they've eliminated some episodes -- so it was never clear why Nick left (or the circumstances leading up to his departure); nor Abi's arrival -- isn't Abi the daughter of Ben's (or Susan's?) sister?
Anyway -- I love BritComs… and wish we had more. I've about seen every episode 5x of Keeping Up Appearances …
exactly. there was never a hint of gay and all of a sudden, there it is. and it's certainly not believable enough for me. i can't remember how nick leaves. i'm quite sure that abi is ben's niece, daughter of his brother
shareRemember when Ben threatened to ground them. Retorted would he really want them indoors with him for weeks?
