Would you be so patient?

Concerning Nick. At 20 something year old who just doesn nothing with his life, granted he was always trying to get jobs but if he tried he could have kept at least one. He always borrowed Ben's car, he got a speeding ticket, he got it impounded. He didn't pay rent, he just generally didn't do alot.
Could you be a patient with him as were Ben ans Susan if he was your child?
I lost my job once when i was 17 and it took me 4 months to find a new one and during that 4 months my dad was always having a go at me and putting me down. I was hardly doing it on purpose, you don't just go out and come back with a job one day.
