That was my thoughts too. Steven Stayner had alot of trouble adjusting when he came home

I was just watching this and thought the same thing.
shareThe main difference is Steven was kidnapped by a stranger when he was 7 and kept 7 years. Another boy was kidnapped and Steven took the boy to the police station and that is how they found out Steven was alive. Steven did have a hard time adapting due to his upbringing by the one who abducted him had totally affected him mentally. He also was sexually abused. This one it was the real father of the boy who kidnapped him when he was 5 and kept him for 5 years and voluntarily sent him back. The movie does not allude any sexual abuse, just mental and physical abuse. So the main similarity would be the mental affect it had on the boys for the trauma they were put through.
