Woody's Best since the early 90's

Each time I see this movie, it gets better. The banter between Allen and Hunt is quintessential Woody. I enjoyed the office set design and the set-up of an insurance investigator investigating his own robberies is great. One of the Woodster's most underrated films.

Maybe his best of the early 2000's, but not since the early '90s, remember Mighty Aphrodite and that wonderful Greek chorus, F. Murry Abraham. "Lenny! Don't be a shmuck!"

Right. Well, I have to - I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

i think this movie is underrarted as well. the dialouge is exceptional. i mean woody's dialouge is always great but especially here. i like how his jokes are funny in a timeless way, anyone could laugh at them.

"The crowd is a moron." Jade is the worst Woody Allen movie in his career from insipid script to terrible miscasting (no chemistry between Woody and Helen Hunt at all) to the actual blocking. Woody the actor was more confused then ever and bumped into the furniture unintentionally. Actors and crew involved commented that it was embarassing and Woody actually wanted it shelved. He even looked older than his years, he reminded me of our old neighborhood pharmacist Mr Stein from West Oak Lane -- which is what his aged parents wanted him to be. A really awful, lame movie.

If you want to see the worst film Woody's ever made, watch "Don't Drink The Water". It makes Hollywood Ending look like a masterpiece.

He left a note. He left a simple little note that said "I've gone out the window."

wow, if it makes Hollywood ending look like a masterpiece, than I rather NOT watch don't drink the water. O.O

IMO Woody's best film from the 90's and 00's is 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' (haven't seen yet 'Whatever Works'). Followed closely by 'Match Point'.
Truth is that I've never seen a dull movie directed by Woody. Not even his attempt to "copy" Ingmar Bergman (Interiors).
Between 'Crimes and Misdemeanors' and VCB, my favorite movies directed by woody are 'Manhattan Murder Mistery', 'Match Point', 'Mighty Aphrodite', and 'Bullets Over Broadway'.
'The Curse of the Jade Scorpion' is good but not great, one step behind the movies aforementioned.

I love this film! Whilst I think it's hardly Woody's best (that's Manhattan for me) it's still good old fashioned yarn with lots of laughs and great lines. It always makes me chuckle and that's good enough for me!

"Ack! Ack!! ACK! Aaaaaaack!"

It's in my bottom three Woody Allen films. I find it strangely uneffective. The initial trigger is quite cute, but the story stagnates, the characters are among the most badly written characters Woody ever wrote and the comedy is very light, shallow and uninspired. The only good thing about this one is indeed the character work of Helen Hunt. Even Small Time Crooks, which was just as light and simple had more multi-dimensional characters and a fairly better screenplay.

The room's a wreck, but her napkin is folded.
