I enjoyed it

I saw this movie not long ago for the first time and I don't understand why people don't like it. I think it is funny and enjoyable. I watch movies to be entertained and forget about real life problems and this is one of those movies. I am sure some people will reply back to me telling me I am crazy or something but I don't care. Just remember to keep an open mind when watching it and don't be so critical of every little thing, like I said, it is for enjoyment.

I enjoyed it too, It's not one of Woody's best films, nonetheless it's quite entertaining. I haven't seen EVERY Woody Allen film (about half of them) anyway IMO 'The Curse of the Jade Scorpion' is in the same vein than 'Scoop' and 'Manhattan Murder Mystery'. A couple more of Woody Allen's screwball comedies that I've enjoyed as well.
7/10

Jade is a enjoyable flick, nothing more. Obviously Woody can do better. And I don't agree to compare this with Scoop. Scoop is a much more funny movie and has a better story. Not that Jade is a bad film, it just isn't great. I gave it a 5/10.

I had heard for years this was one of Woody's lesser movies.

Always curious about it, I finally checked it out. I really enjoyed it. A fun premise, looked great and I loved the goofy characters. Most of all the banjo soundtrack got me!

Can't understand the hate either.

Yeah, me too. Woody Allen's brilliant one-liners makes this movie a lot more enjoyable.

I agree with everybody here. This was a light, funny, entertaining movie -- nothing more, nothing less. It's not Woody Allen's best. But it's not his worst either, although apparently HE thinks it is.
And he's probably right that he shouldn't have played the lead. It's not believable for him to be flirting with and/or romancing Helen Hunt, Elizabeth Berkley, or Charlize Theron.
But that didn't stop me from enjoying this movie. It's still better than most of the comedies I've seen lately.

I enjoyed Curse of the Jade Scorpion IMMENSELY>

One of his top drawer productions. I was particularly struck with the outstanding acting of Helen Hunt and the rest of the great cast (Akroyd not so much).
