This is a gem!

Its such a wonderful mini series and i find it unbelievable that this has never been repeated on the BBC or released on DVD. It was also when i was first introduced to the beautiful amelia warner!!

I'm bumping a very old thread to say, I agree!

I'm in the US, and have recently been introduced to the amazing and gorgeous Rupert Graves (I'm still thanking Turner Classic Movies and their Merchant-Ivory film festival in September for starting my obsession). In the process of trying to see as many of his movies as I can, I was finally able to watch this on YouTube. It was sweet, funny and poignant. The scenery, costumes, music, etc., were beautiful.

Rupert has never looked so good! I think he's just one of those men who gets better looking as they age. I love that he can play a total womanizing jerk, and I can still love him, and almost root for the character. The voice-overs and freeze frames were a nice touch.

Sienna Guillory was beautiful in this, too. I had only ever seen her in her small part in "Love Actually", and now I want to see her more. Ditto Emma Chambers and Hugh Bonneville; I know both from "Notting Hill", and they were both great in this. I loved the pseudo-French Anna (I *knew* something was up with her!), and the fact that Graham the loser-with-women flatmate finally got a girlfriend at the end. I'd definitely recommend this.

Haha nice bump. Just to say if you loved the series then you should read the book. There are some delicious deviations from this shows plot to be found in the book.

I would love a dvd release. I have it on vhs and download. But a series as great as this needs a wide release.

I have the book, i have the olly reed film, i have the tv series and after many months of looking i managed to find the Take a Girl Like You audiobook.
And i have to say that this tv series is by far the BEST version. Its just brilliant. And what a cast!
