Flawed but fantastic

It's incredible that somebody just happened to start shooting a documentary right around one of the biggest economic explosions in history. sure the story is confusing at times, but it's still fascinating. i was a lead programmer and manager during this period, and I felt Tom's pain.

I imagine that a movie like this would be stupid, depressing, and empty for a typical person. However, I suppose that most movies require you to sympathize with its characters and relate to their experiences.

I'm not an entrepreneur by nature, and I really dislike the world of finance and venture capital, so this shouldn't be the kind of movie I would like. However, since I have well-developed programming and engineering skills, people often recruit me for startup businesses (the vast majority of which are so stupid that anybody would reject them). Nonetheless, a slick "idea man" occassionally gets the better of me... I currently own a lot of stock (as much as 40%) in worthless internet companies that I hope will eventually go somewhere.

I hadn't seen this movie until I was a year into one of these endeavors, and this film was a spiritual experience for me. I was in awe for a few days after seeing it.

I just realised that what this movie needed was some simple subtitles/text shots explaning what was going on, those can go a long way.

Yeah, with my specific experience, everything made pretty good sense, but... I feel like I wouldn't have gotten much out of this film without having gone through something very similar.
