Pretty women can't be funny? What??

I really hope this was just a silly stereotype that the filmmakers were playing on. But I took four years of college and I met ALL kinds of people, and most of the pretty and attractive girls I knew actually were very nice, smart and funny. So that stereotype is pretty much bulls**t as far as I'm concerned. And really, it truly doesn't matter what gender you are or what you look like, any living breathing human being on this planet is very much capable of having good personality traits including being funny.

I watched this movie and agreed with the point. A lot of pretty women depend on only their looks to get them through the day, therefore, they tend to not have a strong personality.

The one who said that was hals friend the guy was more shallow than than hall you can't listen to him. Of corse this is a sterotype.

It is obviously a stereotype. I agree with the original poster: we can always find all types of people regardless of their "vessel" (tall, short, skinny, fat, hourglass, athletic, big, small, gorgeous, not-so-pretty...) and everyone deserves to be treated as a person with qualities and flaws (the difference is that some of us carry our flaws in plain sight while others are able to hide it from the naked eye...). People may (pleasantly) surprise us if we get to know them.

is that a stereotype? yes
does it happen in real life? of course it does.
being a stereotype doesnt automatically make it a lie, it just means that not every woman or every guy are like that (like what the stereotype says) But a lot of them DO fall on the stereotype,
why do you think stereotypes are born to begin with???

iv known many pretty women. They kinda are not funny.

Why i don't know. Maybe they think , to hell with it i look gorgeous , so i will just not have a personality

i'm not actually talking about simply "pretty" girls. i'm talking about stunners . Stunning girls have nothing about them . So so dull.

2. Pretty women may think being funny reduces their sultry sex-appeal.

I'm not shallow, but I agree with Jason Alexander's character regarding pretty women being incapable of being funny. It's from my subjective heterosexual male POV a masculine trait.
