Tiffany at Restaurant

I didn't get the part with the hostess Tiffany. When Hal went back into the restaurant after he had been "de-hypnotized" it showed the hostess as a man dressed up as a woman. Can someone clarify this?

Hal first encountered her under the "spell." She was a really beautiful person inside and that's what he saw. Once the spell was off, he saw her as she is in real life -- a very nice person with an unfortunate outside. They decided a man should play her looking that way. It confused me too.

I think she was a transgender who has a man's body but feeling as a woman inside. Because she was a nice person Hal saw who she was inside. I thought that's why a man played the role.

definitely a transgender which hal would find unttractive as his old self

"I'll be there for you"

Thank you for clarifying that for me; I appreciate it! I'm glad I wasn't the only one confused about it!

A lot of people that Hal had met looked different than what he saw when under.

The young girl in the hospital turned out to be a burns victim for instance.
