Contains one of the sexiest scenes ever!!!

When Ash and Cristabel are in the hotel room, she says that his hands are shaking and asks him if he is scared...then he says 'no'...'a little' then he kisses her!!! WOW!!! That made my blood pressure sky high! I loved that scene, I had to rewind it several times because it was so damn sexy - and they were both dressed!!! LOL

Jeremy was so damn hot in this movie, I wish he would kiss me like that! I'd be his slave! My husband thinks I'm crazy because Jeremy is older than I am, and he's not all buff and full of muscle...but he's just SO DAMN SEXY!

Anyone else get hot and bothered by that scene? All of that passion is just wonderful!

Stephanie

I agree totally with your sentiments. Jeremy is amazing. He's sexy as hell and I love that scene.

I've watched somewhere a trailer of the movie with that scene and the chemistry between them felt so right in the minute trailer that I had to watch the whole movie :) I've always thought that Jeremy is a perfect actor for classic tale adaptions ever since I watched him in "Emma" with Gwineth Poltrow. Although this movie isn't only about Ash and Christabel you can sense their passion and possession from such small scenes with that one in the hotel room being the sexiest one :)

Oh my god, absolutely agreed. Jeremy Northam and Jennifer Ehle had the most amazing chemistry in that movie. It was palpable. I think the reason this scene was so perfect (I mean, other than the obvious reasons) was because of the build-up. I mean, they kissed when they first got to the hotel, but other than that they'd barely had any physical contact at all. And then the clothes of the era have so many layers and cover-ups--when he sees her without so many clothes on for the first time, it's like whaaaaaa.

Yeah, I re-watch this scene over and over every time I watch this movie. I think that Gwyneth Paltrow and Aaron Eckhart (who, IMHO, have NO chemistry at all) were cast to make Jeremy and Jennifer look really good.

Agreed! I had to rewind this scene several times, too. Absolutely amazing!

You're so vain! You probably think this post is about you.

i know i was like and so now i am the very proud owner of the movie and the book with the movie image as the cover

The Victorian scenes were excellent (even more engaging than the present storyline). What made the hotel room scene beautiful was the build-up and anticipation prior to that scene. It was passionate and subtle (compared to today's "love scene").
Jennifer Ehle and Jeremy Northam are excellent actors and they portrayed their respective roles effectively. It's a shame they didn't include more scenes with them.

That scene is amazingly passionate and beutiful at once. I love it!

Is that all it takes to get you woman riled up? A little foreplay and you're hot to trot.

reply

Indeed. I think back to comments like these in this thread when ever I hear of a woman caught in a relationship being abused/mistreated by some man who, though full of charm, is really cruel. In general, it seems some women are too susceptible to the immediate passion, then end up in terrible relationships...slaves for life...so to speak.

I wish I could "like" this. Also, it happens to men, too.

You've got me?! Who's got you?!

I just watched this moive for the first time over the weekend, and this is exactly what I thought. I had to playback that kiss a few times. My goodness was it HOT!

Just re-watched this after seeing it in the theater years ago. Chemistry between those two was amazing. I'd hop a train with Ash any day. What a handsome eloquent devil he was.

I've seen this one time and all remember is the hot sexy couple in the period piece part.

I'm about to watch it again on Netflix.

If the man in question is the gorgeous and smoldering Jeremy Northam with that deep and sexy voice of his, then yes, that's all it takes!
