Confused by the ending

Was Pauline just visiting or was she now living with Pauline? I guess she was just visiting, but I wasn't sure.

They are just having a day out together. Pauline was too much for Paulette to handle at her age and Pauline now has caregivers but Paulette is still in her life and apparently takes her out occasionally.
