OK, I'll buy it.

Just watched the show and while I've never been a Liza fan I was blown away by the whole thing.

It was dripping with Fosse at every turn and I think that is what put it over the top for me.

Talk about 2 people at the top of their game. Yikes.

As soon as the show was over I ordered "Cabaret" & the "Liza With A "Z"" DVDs. Totally worth $30; it's just too bad that this isn't something current, I'd have loved to have seen it in person.

Liza's shows are still fantastic, and if you ever get a chance you should definately see her. No one has more experience, as she has done over 4,000 concerts in the last 40 years. She's obviously not the same as she used to be, but in some ways she's better as far as a presence on stage and her amazing acting ability. You can check her concert dates and stuff at her fan club website www.limelightonliza.org.

I watched it (twice!) on Showtime's free preview and thought it was a pretty good show. I think some of the complaints about its "look" are because it was recorded on film as opposed to videotape and has a softer look. I have to get the DVD now because I haven't stopped thinking about it, especially the "I Gotcha" number with that incredible choreography. So much snazz and pizzazz. She really is a stunning performer. I just wish it was longer!

Glad to hear you've come over to our side. ;) As if having just done CABARET weren't enough in 1972, she and Fosse went and gave us LIZA WITH A Z, which sealed the deal on my becoming a fan of them both. I've seen her live in concert twice, and she's incredible.

You got it, dth1212! I've seen the film Cabaret at least 5 times (this is someone who rarely watches a movie more than once unless 10 years have passed.) Plus I've seen at least 3 live musical productions of Cabaret and read books written by Christopher Isherwood based on the adventures of Sally Bowles, all because I was inspired by the Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey movie.

You nailed it in two thoughts...the show does drip with Fosse and it is Liza and Fosse at the top of their game.
