Scratching my head a bit

While I really enjoyed this allot, I am confused. My DVD has that fatal flaw in it, so I missed out on the revelations at the end of part 1, but do they have anything to do with the end? It didn't seem like it. After all of the interesting back story of the three sisters, at then end they sort of faded away, and it was all focused on Rebecca and Alice and their current relationship. I guess I was looking for more at the end.

Whenever you look up, there I shall be -- and whenever I look up there will be you.

I thought the film convyes naivety of the main character, and climaxes with him understanding that life is not what is seems. He's kind of growing up. All members of his family come to some relevations about their past, which make them better understand and cope with the present. Daniel has to learn a thing or two about love and sexual attraction. It was kind of sad, really, that Rebecca didn't feel strong enough for him to overcome her past, and Daniel has to accept that things like that happen.
