It isn't THAT BAD (imdb rating 3.7)

I know, made for usa network... no big budget... but actors did it very well. F. Murray Abraham is really good and that girl "Lisa Lande" (charlotte) is a *beep* beauty.
The plot caught me, the "darkling" is really creepy and the whole movie it is really entertaining.

A 6 for me.

I agree completely. This film was very good, in my opinion. It was a little draggy in spots, but when the Darkling was in the scenery he took over the film and it was creeepy!
Very little truly scares me in films anymore, as I am a *hardened* horror film fan and all they use is fake-looking effects now *sigh*, but this one was excellent.
The Darkling's voice itself and those eyes of his were enough to give nightmares.

I watch it now and again, really like it. A bit of a popcorn movie for me.

I loved it.

I think it's that bad.

The actors did a good job, especially Aidan Gillen was really good, but the story is just too ridiculous.

reply

It's awful. It's so bad I'd welcome a Rifftrax to help get me through it. I feel bad for Aidan Gillen though. F. Murray Abraham was hamming it up and collecting a check. Aidan's actually trying despite the script and inept direction.

Ha ha, I should rewatch this. It's been almost 10 years since I last seen it.
Can't find a bluray release though.
