Not only are these two written and directed by the same people who did Mammo (1995) but the 3 of the actors are playing characters of the same name too.

Farida Jalal as Mammo

Surekha Sikri as Fayyazi

Rajit Kapoor as Riaz (AKA Rizu)

it's a trilogy.

filmed as Mammo, Sardari Begum and Zubedia

But chronologically it's Zubeida, Mammo then Sardari Begum.

Mammo has a direct connection with the story of this film, I have watched Sardari Begum too but, right now, fail to remember its direct connection with these two movies - Mammo and Zubeidda, and I also doubt if it has any direct story connection.
