Bravissima! Ole! for outstanding ensemble production

I am a 73 year old midwestern WASP, and normally avoid chick films, family sentiment, and soap opera dialog. But flipping cable channels I came across this and have been a long admirer of many in the cast -- I've seen all of Hector Elizondo's films with Garry Marshall, Paul Rodriguez lends a light touch to all films he gets parts in, Elizabeth Pena -- ohhhh, so hot. So I settled down and watched this film to the end. Gorgeous photography, smooth directing, and every woman is incredibly interesting. I couldn't believe it was Raquel Welch at first and she added a great touch of spice to the ending. Wow! She's always been under rated as an actress by those who can't get over her perfect body. I'll have to get the DVD and also the Chinese version for comparison. Tortilla Soup is a work of art, masterpiece!

I miss Big Band music and talented singers. Leonard Cohen is my idol. Civility, harmony, unity!

I agree, what agreat little movie--it was "delicious". I discovered it by channel surfing too, and from the opening sequence 'til the final scene I was hooked! Such a warm and inviting film...the food, the colors, the women and Hector's presence--terrific film.

And it made me hungry too!
