Where we see her body float by in the boat towards the reeds: I assumed he killer her. Others seem to intepret this more metaphorically.

NO, he saved her from mutilation. They were both suicidal and she was gonna get caught for killing the prostitute (accidentally)

Thought the director could have made the guy take the fall for her, in a hollywood ending.....

but no, i think they or she at least moved his barge away and killed herself.

Kinda ties in with the director's other movie, with the long long name.
