I missed quite a bit of the movie... what happened that made her leave, and why is the press trying to get to her?

She ended up doing well in Hollywood, I believe, and then she went in seclusion with her sickness. They found out where she was and contacted TJ to see if he could get some pics of her. Mainly it was National Enquirer type media looking for her. She left because TJ(the guy she was dating) had a few of his friends stop by a motel room he got so that they could "have their turn" with Angela. Pico caught them and she left with him. She always wanted to leave town so she used that as the reason.

her boyfriend let his friends rape her so she decided to leave town that instant. Pico i think his name was never goes with her he dies that same night but she doesn't find out until right before she dies

he diied because angela's boyfriend kills him. that's why when pico's father sees pico a angela's house when she's sick he says "son it's been a while." Its also why pico never returned any of angela's letters. and it's also why TJ panics at the end of the movie, he's sees pico's ghost.
