Yan in the snow

Is it just me, or does the scene when Yan stands in the snowfall easily resonate as the most powerful of the film? one of the most striking and beautiful in all Oriental cinema?

The scene I'm referring to is in the second half of the film when she has returned to her homeland. I'm not sure the premise behind the scene (i.e., why she's standing in the snow?), but nonetheless I think the film would not be as powerful, as I humbly think it is, without this brief scene. If I were a passer-by, I wouldn't know whether to sit idly by and admire the beauty, or to tackle her into the snow and take here right there.

yeah. great film.

she lived in northern end of China, and I think she was visiting her opera school. she loved the opera but she can't make a living out of it, so she has to forfeit her career and prostitute.
