Worst Movie

I watched this the other week- got to be the one of the worst movies i have seen. Ever. It goes no where.

You're a teenager. I'm not surprised that it went over your head. It was a masterful film with complex themes.

I agree with the OP and Telos123. McGovern's story is masterful in creating the character "Liam", depicting his virtue while he struggles with the torment a predominently Roman Catholic society has imposed upon his conscience. McGovern does an excellent job in defining Liam's character and deserves literary (though McGovern did not write a novel but a screenplay) praise equal to the similar characters depicted by Joyce (Joyce's alter-ego, "Stephen Dedalus") and Behan ("The Borstal Boy").

This film was dark and shouldn't be viewed for mere "entertainment" value. It simply is in another venue, altogether. I do think the Director leaves the viewer with a sense of "void" or even confusion, at the end of the movie. For this reason, I believe it reduces the overall quality of the film, as the rendition of McGovern's story is lost,in a way.

See what a difficult situation you've created. Proud of yourself now are you?

Oh, go watch your stupid "Aquamarine" or latest Adam Sandler "hit" and leave us the f alone.

i agree. i just wasted my whole midnight. depressing. no uplifting ending. i'd rather watch Requiem for A Dream than watch this. At least the characters weren't all *beep* or suppressed.
