Do you think there will EVER be a sequel?

They could at least give us a PS3* remake or something...

*Changed from PS2 remake

I doubt they will. As much as i want one, they wouldve made one years ago, Its going on seven years now. Way too long for a sequel now.

Well, other than the obvious new coat of graphics, I'd probably tweak the battle system and weapon selection a bit. Other than that, the games story was basically flawless! But then again, it would kind of suck playing the exact same thing all over again, so I guess i would toss in a bosses or two just to mix things up.

I think more side-quests would be a big improvement. Plus I'd like to get to know some of the characters a little better (like the old dragoons for example) and perhaps more background on things from their ancient history. I definitely think there are a few things that could be done to make it even more enjoyable. Then again I highly doubt there will be a remake or a second game, so it’s all just a fantasy anyway :(

if they did remake it, they should change the story a little so that lloyd could be playable. they could do it king of like what they did in chrono trigger. you could choose to forgive lloyd for his crimes or you could fight him. they could keep the story line the same if you choose to fight lloyd and then they would just have to make a few changes to make lloyd's fate at the end a little different if you forgive him.

Man, there should be a The Legend of Dragoon: Dragon Campaign game. for PS3. I'd pick that up in a heartbeat (even if I didn't have a PS3)

There is some dude on Youtube i just tryd to find him again but cant. But his trying to get a prequel and a sequel to the game, Something about his been talking to Sony and he has alot of people who are helping with it. and his always asking for more help, even if its just ideas for a Story. He said he wants a Prequel first, to talk about stuff that went on b4 LOD and then he wants to make another Following the people for LOD
Look up some LOD videos on youtube and commented on a bunch of them saying about what his doing then click on his name and his got a video talking about it. I think his name starts with an "m" but i cant remember sorry so it might happen who knows. Ya even a remake would be awesome

After nine years I seriously doubt that there will be any sequels to this game.

A pity because it is a better RPG than many of the ones that have had sequels over the last years. =/

Ah come on, dont uncross those fingers yet.
Hell it was like that long, and they made a FF VII movie.
And Re making it for the ps3. just for the hell of it

..but ya if they was gonna do it they would have said something about it by now,
I Dragoon did not sell that good or something when it hit stores

To bad tho

Well, the thing is that LoD didn't have the impact that FFVII had. LoD has its loyal fans (I am one of them!). But sadly it doesn't seem that the people who made that game are interested in doing a sequel, let alone a remake =/

If they made the attack items more useful and made dragoon additions less frustratingly hard (ive only gotten a full one once maybe twice) it'd be way better.

and maybe a way to keep track of progress to dragoon level instead of it just happening from time to time
idk.

Personally, I would love to see a prequel telling the story of Rose and dart's dad and the other Dragoons. ^.^

Knowing our luck, people from Sony interested in doing a sequel are going to come to these boards, and the FIRST post they're going to notice is YOURS.

Then, they're going remake the game using your advice; the attack items will have no power-up action and there is going to be an 'ultimate move' that is useless because it can only be used once per ten battles.

One thing that I do think they could have changed is the 'MP' system.

First off, EVERY game does the MP thing, we need something fresh, and Legend of the Dragoon seems to be all about unique battle systems.

I propose something similar to how you gain SP. You build up an ultimate attack by attacking, which, in turn, can ALSO be upgraded so that it is stronger or can be used more times consecutively. (Or more interestingly, the same move gets longer, adding additional moves to the original)
It would be better than an ultimately USELESS 'Limit Break' move, and much more entertaining.

FURTHERMORE, this ultimate move (the one I have proposed, not the 'limit break' ripoff) would be an interactive attack, similar to additions.
As parts of the move unfold, buttons, or a combination of buttons or something similar will be required to keep it going.

The MORE INTERACTIVE, the BETTER!

The ONE thing I agree with is the dragoon physical attack. It almost seemed more fortuitous when you get a perfect than skill. (Though I get a perfect, now, more often than not, and I'm on the first disc)

Who me? I was just saying that I wanted a remake with nothing changed but the graphics.

But then again, I've since replayed it and realized that probably wouldn't be such a great idea. The gameplay feels a tad dated compared to current-gen RPGs, so maybe there should be some changes, but I'd strongly doubt anyone from Sony would take advice from it's comsomers anyway...

Edit:And now I want it made on a PS3 engine

Guess Who Back...Again

reply

No, no. I was talking to EpsilonX.
(Did you read the rest of my post?)

Even if they remade the game EXACTLY the same, except for Playstation 3, with a complete revamping of the translations and a graphics overhaul that would put the Playstation 2 to shame, then I would play it all over again.

It's not even that I'm a fan of the game, as such, but it's just such a fun system and the characters rule.

i made that post a while ago lol. but what i meant by items more accessible is if they did more damage. whenever i used em they didn't do diddly squat and it was better just to use a regular addition (and no i didn't suck at the x tapping)

and btw, ever played FF8? renzokuken limit break is pretty interactive, it involves you pulling a trigger a lot lol. but basically each character does have an ultimate move, you just gotta get to level 5 dragoon.

let's edit that post of mine so that if sony does see it they won't dumb it down lol

I bet fans could invent something really great for an ultimate move.
What about just rotating the joysticks? (Like the power struggles in Dragonball Z Budokai 2 and 3)

Pressing X, Triangle, Square or O at the proper time, perhaps, to keep the ultimate move going.
Maybe even a different type of combination for each person's special, or maybe multiple.

For example, if Kongol is twirling his axe above his head, you quickly rotate the joystick to build power, and then as he attacks, you hit button combinations in quick succession, then rapidly tap X at the proper time to finish the move.

Since it would be an ultimate move, the difficulty would be worth it, and you would feel so much more accomplished upon finishing it.

Or maybe, once you fill up your ultimate, and you have the final edition, you press a certain button at the end of the edition to activate a longer edition that does MASSIVE DAMAGE.
So many interesting ideas.
The real hard part is balancing it all.

On second thought, maybe a remake isn't such a bad idea

I bought the legend of dragoon back when it first came out in 2000 or 2001, and I never played it because when i tried to, I kept comparing it to final fantasy wich was a big mistake. 9 years later in 2009 I played and beat it. I wish I would have done it sooner.

I am on the bandwagon..make a sequel!!

Take me to your leader

I used to love the FF games, but now they suck...

But back in the era of the PS1 there were awesome RPG's such as this one, Xenogears, Grandia, etc.
