I just watched the intro of this game on Youtube and liked how it was done with real life people and stuff. Too bad the rest of the game sucked. I only played this game once back in the day (only after GTA 3 and Vice City was released) and remember not liking it at all. Only being able to see from a helicopter POV made it all very frustrating.

shareI'm not a huge fan of the top down perspective, but what I liked less about the 2-D "Grand Theft Auto" titles was the way the player's character controlled (I don't like constantly being in "run mode" with the character).
I played these games late as well, and I do think the gameplay concept was awesome for the time. I'm also glad the early games sold well and were popular, otherwise there might not have been a "GTA III" and so forth. I have to say, my favorite of the 2-D games is "Grand Theft Auto: London 1969" for its setting the feeling of transporting me to 1969 London (the soundtrack helped).
