Songs

If anyone can name the songs that played in the opening scenes of the movie (where 'Japanese Man' gets undressed after coming home, feeds the snakes, eats a hamburger with the Japanese girls, etc.), I would be really grateful. There's five seperate songs that I could make out:

1) A Rolling Stones-esque rock song.
2) A classical piano piece
3) A Spanish Flamenco song
4) A Swing/Jazz song
5) Another classical piece

... in that order, actually. All over the span of about 2-3 minutes of screentime, at the VERY beginning.

Oh - and does anyone also know WHO did the cover of the song 'Walk Don't Run' in the bar/dancing scene? The original is by a 1960s American surf-rock band called The Ventures, but I'm positive that this version is not by them. Thanks.

I just watched a clip of the Walk, Don't Run sequence on youtube. Now I have to watch this complete movie!

The version used "Walk, Don't Run '64" and it is indeed by the Ventures; it's their own remake of "Walk, Don't Run". In fact, it made them the only group to ever have two top ten hits with the same song!

Hi there,

I'm also searching for most of the songs, but this is what I could make out til now:

To 2): The classical piece on "feeding the snakes" is "Mozart, piano sonata KV457, Allegro" (you can find out more details in the credits).

To 5): This is a piece of a Beethoven symphony (No.5 or No.6, I can't remember...)

As I journalist, I'd say: "Ask those who know". So I'd recommend trying to write to NSW Film & TV Office or Still Life Pictures. If they've got a nice day and have a little time, I'm sure they'll drop you a line :-D
