I am watching this currently on Lifetime, 04/25/08, and cannot get through the first 15 minutes, because Patricia Richardson was just completely wrong as the role of Monroe's mom. I don't know what the thinking behind casting her was, but it was a sad mistake. At least in this role, she cannot act her way out of a paper bag.

Sheree North was perfect as MM's mother in the 1980 TV movie. Better actress and better grasp of the 'character'.

At least Sheree North was a contemporary of Marilyn Monroe's!
