Why do people call this a 'Hindu' movie?

I haven't seen the film myself, so hopefully some good person can explain this. Is there a Hindu message in it or something?

nothing religious in it. the film is about an autistic guy's bonding with an ET.
no one in india has termed it hindu. in fact no indian film has ever been branded hindu or muslim.

Maybe you're confusing Hindi--the language with Hindu--the religion?

I believe they say that because in the beginning, the connection with the aliens is finally made with the word, "om." And the scientists joke that the alien shares the finding doctors religion.

The Basketball teams name was "The Pandavas". There is a hidden Hindu meaning, yes, that can not be denied...its not a "Hindu movie" though.

maybe the thought of speaking hindu in a film with beautiful looking indian girls, fantastic dancing and singing will give you a clue

Not 'Hindu', Hindi. Not Hinduism the religion, but Hindi the language. It's the language spoken in the movie.
