I've watched it twice and some of the scenes pertinent to my confusion thrice.

My Spanish is good enough to know that some of the English subtitles were not verbatim, or were often lazy or wrong, but not good enough to figure out what I'm looking for.

Uno) On the island, Lucia is in Elena's room looking at a picture of Luna that is dated 1988. If that current year was 2000, and we accept, as I do that Luna is really Lorenzo's daughter, how do you explain that?

Dos) I'm uber confused over the relationship between Luna, Belen, Elena, and this 4th woman-the porn star. The movie leads one to believe that Elana is both the mother of Luna and Belen, but other parts of it confuse the the matter.

Tres) Who is the girl lying nude on the balcony when Belen is talking to Elena on the phone about coming to the island as Carlos/Antonio watches from the couch. It looks too young to be the third person shown in the missing ad on the computer (Belen's porn star mom)

1. Typographical error in the subtitles. Both the handwritten date on the photograph and the voiceover reading it in spanish say "1998," not, as appears in the subtitles, "1988."

2. Elena only has one child: Luna. Belén is Luna's nanny. She's just an employee of Elena, not family, although clearly Elena does care about her. Belén's mother is the porn star, whom the film rarely shows in person.

3. ...Except in this scene. The nude woman on the balcony sure looked like Belén's mother to me. I think it's the only scene in which she appears in person.

Belen's mom appears in the hospital, too, after the incident with Luna and the dog.

Yes, I also think the woman who hosed herself off on the balcony was Belen's mother, the porn actress. Her photograph was later shown next to Belen and Antonio's in the "Missing" poster.
