It's a pity, then, that some of the dialogue he was given to speak was utter drivel...

Jeremy certainly had his fair share of "utter drivel" to deliver, but it got spread around pretty well throughout the cast. You could almost see these actors wincing as they're speaking sometimes, especially the lines in the sailboat pond scene between Whittaker and Irons. They both looked relieved to have gotten that over with!

seemed fine to me. plausible.
