Similarities to BRAZIL and 8 1/2

I recently just saw 8 1/2 for the first time and loved it, but I was wondering if anyone else had noticed some similarities to Terry Gilliam's Brazil and Roman Copalla's CQ. I'm well aware that Gilliam has stated Fellini as a big influence to him and I think it really shows in Brazil. The dream sequences, bizzare camera movements, bizzare costumes, etc. However, I was wondering if anyone knew whether Copalla has stated him as an influence because CQ has such a similiar story line (a man struggling to make a movie involving space ships who falls in love with more than one woman in Europe in the 60s) (as well as dream sequences). What I find even more odd is how similiar the character of Guido in 8 1/2 and the character of Enzo in CQ. I also think that actress Elodie Bouchez (Marlene in CQ) looks incredibly like Barbara Steele (Gloria in 8 1/2). Sorry to sound like a nerd, but any thoughts?

CQ has a lot of Fellini type shots and themes. I noticed it too.

Been a while since I saw it, 8-1/2 is definitely a big influence, but what about Godard's Le Mepris? The screening room scene with Gerard Depardeu similar to the one with Jack Palance?

So...what is it about CQ you find similar to Brazil? It's the subject of the thread but you didn't say another word about it...focus, please.

This is very much like "8 1/2" – a little too much for my tastes, actually – but I don't seen any resemblance to "Brazil." Could you elaborate?
