So what song was used there, it was a classical piece.

I believe it was the theme from Un Homme et Une Femme (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061138/) from 1966.

Thanks, it was the song I was looking for.

Was that not "Strangers in the Night", or am I thinking of a different scene? Certainly not a classical piece, but it was an orchestral arrangement of the song. Well-known as a Sinatra tune.
