Weird editing
May I ask, what was with the weird editing? Was there some reason scene's kept getting cut up and jumping to different takes? Were there just not that many good ones?
Arrr! Math be hard! Let's go shopping!

I just watched this movie tonight and asked a friend about that. No one was sure but we think it had something to do with a more comedic feeling. It was kind of funny ^_^ It seemed like a longer conversation was meant to take place but they were just jumping around. It seemed to add a kind of flare to it that other movies don't dare to take. Rock on Triumph of Love for being risky!

I think they were going for some "artistic" thing, but it didn't work for me--the jump cuts seemed like "we can do this, so we are."
An example of jump cuts that worked was the sequence in Boogie Nights when Wahlberg's character and his two roommates were getting into coke/meth and kept getting more and more--that was a great way to tell the story of the endless loop of drugs they were getting into.
Here it just looks like sloppy editing on purpose, and for no purpose to the story.
