The movie was filmed in a small town called Salmo, its about 8 hours from Vancouver and it is a matter of fact my home town. I was actually in the movie, they were looking for extras and me and a bunch of my friends were cast in as the kids who were in the snowball fight. We got to meet all the cast and take pictures, it was the best thing that ever happened to our little town. The Bull Mountain Pub was really our bar and the house were they lived, the pink one is my friend Jillian's house. Their dad was so mad when they pained it. And most of the skiing was filmed in Summit, by Vancouver but the close-ups and stuff were shot in a 47ft pile of snow that they had made in our local park's baseball field.

The outside town shots were filmed in Salmo BC, but the skiing was filmed on Red Mountain in Rossland BC, the only parts filmed in Vancouver were the indoor shots. I live just outside Salmo but it was the year before I moved here that it was filmed.

Sorry, but the King of the Mountain and the dedication ceremony/trash fest were filmed just outside of Vancouver.

For anyone else planning a snowboarding trip... it's just about September and parks will begin to open in a month or two.

I'm sure Canada has some awesome parks. I also recommend Colorado. There's plenty of parks close to each other so you can hit a couple a day. For example board during the day at Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin), then make the 15 minute drive to Keystone for some night boarding. Other nearby parks are Loveland and Breckenridge. All about an hour away from Denver, depending on road conditions and traffic.

There are a ton more parks here that require a bit more drive time. Snowmass in Aspen. Telluride, Wolf Creek, and Purgatory in Durango. Some of our parks here are the first to open in the country, and the last to close. A-Basin and Loveland compete for opening, both usually opening in mid-October and closing in late May.
