THIS MOVIE IS WAY UNDER RATED!!!!!

When I went and saw this movie I had never even heard of it. Me and my friend were the only two in the theatre. We LAUGHED OUR ASSES OFF!! I introduced it to many people after it came out on DVD. All my buddies LOVE it. we all remember and quote almost every line in it! Shows that we dont get tired of it. I wonder why MORE people didnt like it??

The reason most people don't like this movie is because it's a movie targeted at 13 year old boys. If you aren't in that demographic, alas, it's lost on you. My good friend made me watch this movie with him because he LOVES it, I wanted to gouge my eyes out. I guess 19 year old girls aren't amused by some chick flashing someone to win "King of the Mountain".

reply

Whoa whoa whoa...easy now killer. This movie is by far one of my favorite comedies. Maybe the fact that i'm an avid snowboarder helps out, but i'm quite beyond 13 years old and still find it hysterical even after seeing it about a gagillion times.

reply

i also beleave it is a good one

reply

Unexpectedly fun movie.

reply

Im a chick and I appreciated her flashing him ;) made my viewing more enjoyable.. I aboslutley LOVE this movie I have seen it so many times :) Im not a 13 year old boy but maybe I should of been :/ :P

I just wanna know how a movie that is supposedly directed solely at 13-year-old boys, as a previous poster clearly (and slightly angrily it seemed) stated, can have the following line:

"No regrets, that's my motto, well, that and everybody Wang Chung tonight."

Your parents weren't married when you were born? You bastard!

reply

Actually hun I was saying that directed at the person in this message thread who said it was directed at 12 year old boys.. I LOVE THE MOVIE... hence why i have that line as my signature....

Luke: No regrets, that's my motto. Well... that and everybody Wang Chung tonight

reply

Sorry, I'm a 21 year old girl and still find this movie to be hilarious. :x

.......
"Well, if it isn't my old friend Mr. McGreg, with a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg!"

reply

Damn right it is.. LUKE IS KING!!!! I feel so bad for him yet the stuff they do to him is hilarious...

Luke: No regrets, that's my motto. Well... that and everybody Wang Chung tonight

I agree. In fact, it's actually really funny. If this movie had been made in 1986, it would have been a smash hit. It's that same kind of humor, a bit wacky, but with it's heart in the right place. Some comedies lately seem to be trying too hard for "indie cred."

I'm a 27 year old male snowboarder in Colorado and I love this movie. Especially before hitting the mountain. A lot of people I talk to while boarding have this movie too.

reply

I love this badly underrated film.

Wow.. I'm a 19-Year-old girl and this movie is by far one of my favourites. I've made my friends all watch it and so far they've all loved it!

If it was intended for a younger audience I think they might not have understood most of the jokes in it. So maybe that's why it wasnt popular when it first came out.

I was a little young when it first came out to have been interrested in the movie but when I was that bit older I hired it and realised how good it was!

I completely agree that this movie is way underrated. However, you have to realize what other movies were receiving so much attention that year that completely shadowed Out Cold...there was Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Ali, American Pie 2, The Animal, A Beautiful Mind (one of the best movies of all time), plus a TON of others...it just came out at the wrong time.

BILLY BOY!
HAHAHAHAHA. You're so cool and perceptive! I MUST LOVE LAGUNA BEACH BECAUSE I HAVE A VAGINA AND I DONT LIKE A MOVIE ABOUT DRUNK SNOWBOARDERS!

Honey, I'm not an idiot because I didn't like your favorite low budget stoner comedy. I'm just telling you that I didn't think it was funny because there was nothing that appealed to me. Like, I really enjoyed "Waiting", because I'm a waitress, and I liked "Harold and Kumar" because I live in Jersey. Why would I enjoy a movie that's targeted at teen boys that snowboard? AND! I'm not saying girls can't enjoy it too, just that the movie is TARGETED toward teen boys, so girls, please don't jump all over me.

And, just so you know, it's "you're", not "your".

reply

Okay Catfiend, my favorite movies are Memento, Donnie Darko, A Clockwork Orange, and I'm not a 13 year old boy and I loved this movie. It's better than Waiting even though Ryan Reynolds is hilarious. It's stupid, know's it, and has Zach Galifinikis(however you spell it). Of course I love skiing and snowboarding so maybe I'm biased. I also loved Ski School and the crappy slasher flick Shredder(both recommended if you like this movie).

I agree that the film is underrated, I disagree that it is only Funny to 13 year lod boys, and I think it is one of the best films of all time.

I am part of a snowboard team made up of guys age 21 to 26 and we watch this show almost religiously, so to say that it only appeals to 13 year olds is unfair......it also apeals to guys who have been watching it since they were 13. HA-HA-HA!!!
okay, so more like 16 but whatever.

One of my favourite things about it is that it's a retelling of Casablanca(seriously it is, think about it.)

Other high points include:
Great lines,
Guest appearances,
A Dodge charger,
Hot girls,
Great snowboarding,
........And Stumpy!

Well. I'm an 18 year old girl, and my boyfriend lent me this movie to watch, and although it took me awhile to actually watch, I just did and must say it was pretty friggin' awesome. I expected it to be chocked full of gratuitous and unnecessary boobage/sex, but it really wasn't. Yeah, so a chick flashed Pigpen, oooh, let's call out the feminists.

The movie definantly is underrated, as I hadn't even heard of it until my guy lent it to me. But you can bet your ass I'm gonna show this to my other girlfriends for good laughs.

The first time I saw this movie was in 2003. I was still in Navy and one of the guys in my division had this movie. I watched it, never hearing about it before hand. Besides we were at sea patrolling the Persian Gulf with nothing better to do. Now I live in Colorado and snowboard regularly.

reply

I saw this movie with the lowest of expectations and ended up loving it.
I knew it was suppose to be a raunchy comedy but i was caught off guard with the clever reverences to Casablanca. So each time this thing comes on Comedy central i got to watch it.

For the record i thought it was hilarious when anna asked luke to "play it again" and he ends up playing "baby got back" HAHAHA...that actor guy zack Z dominated in the movie.

see this movie man...just do it
