Did anyone read the comic prequel to Star Trek (2009)? It was set 8 years after Nemesis following the TNG characters and their involvement in the Spock/Nero situation. I really enjoyed the comic. The new Picard series could easily spinoff from the circumstances established in the comic, especially since Kurtzman (who co-wrote the comic) is producing the new series.

That's my only beef with how that story could continue.
Practically, they could get around Spiner's age by either motion capture or making DataB4 cybernetic like a borg. Complete with aging skin. Or, since this takes place 12 years after that comic, they could just leave him out altogether. But I was always fond of Data. The characters I hated, but who got a lot of screen time, was Worf and Troi. I don't want them back, ever.
shareSpiner looked almost the same in Independence Day 2 as he did in the first 20years prior. im willing to bet if they put him in the Data make up and wig he wouldn't look all that different to how he looked in Nemesis
shareKurtzman is involved. Never mind. Will still likely be better than STD but not good enough. A shame they didn't have the makers of Orville head a new ST show minus the comedy. It is the spiritual successor to the franchise. More so than Enterprise.
I don't think we will ever get another good Trek. Sadly.
